The Silver Moony can be found in coastal areas and near offshore islands. They commonly swim in groups feeding on small shrimps and fishes. They're pelagic fishes feeding mostly from midwater level to near surface. They can sometimes be found mingling with Yellowtail Scad and Redbelly Yellowtail Fusilier.

Use of floating rigs with small shrimps are excellent way of targetting for Silver Moony although bottom rigs may work as well.
